The School 

 

Hamworthy Middle School was built in the early 1970's on a beautiful and spacious site with views of Poole Harbour , the Purbecks and Brownsea Island . Within the first few years a group of parents added the heated indoor swimming pool. Through the years there have been a variety of changes to the building, these provide specialist areas and facilities to enable the school to offer all pupils a range of curriculum subjects and opportunities. 

The school consists of four year groups:-

                                         08 -   9 years (Year 4)
                                         09 - 10 years (Year 5)  
                                         10 - 11 years (Year 6)  
                                         11 - 12 years (Year 7)

All children are based on classes of about 30, under the responsibility of the class teacher.  Through the year each child builds a special relationship with other class members and their teacher.

We are always happy to meet with parents and discuss any concerns or offer advice and information.  Each term there is an opportunity to discuss your child's work and progress during the parent/teacher consultation evenings.  Parents are always welcome to make additional appointments to see teachers.  Please contact the school office first to arrange a convenient time for both parents and staff.
