ICT Update

We are delighted to be able to tell you about the major investment that has taken place over the half term break with a major ICT overhaul in school.  A state of the art wireless network system has been installed with 11 access points, new cabling and switches.  To add to this we have invested in new ‘eco’ computers in both suites.  These computers are very economic to run and will support our ‘eco schools’ policy.

The computer system within the school is now robust and very effective.  Logon speed times are vastly improved enabling children to access computer work very quickly.  This means that we are now ready to work on our learning platform, Merlin.

The development of our learning Platform will provide:

·         Access to personalised learning space

·         Parental access

Developing a learning platform in school will take time to establish but is an exciting way forward for Hamworthy Middle School.  We are anticipating training sessions for parents in the new academic year.
